In the category of "tell me something I didn't know...", I present

Republicans report better mental health than others, regardless of age, income, gender, ethnicity, church attendance, and a number of other factors.

Now, certainly, it is impossible to conclude whether being a republican makes one more healthy, mentally, or being mentally healthy makes one more likely to be a republican, although I do have my suspicions there.

Interesting to note is that mental health also increases with the frequency of church attendance, again in the category of "tell me something I didn't know".

That isn't to say that all republicans and church-going folks are healthier, or that atheistic democrats are unhealthy, but the fact that there is so much correlation says one thing, and that is this:

More than likely, if you're mentally unstable, you're going to vote for Hillary Clinton.

Again, tell me something I didn't already know!

"Republicans are significantly more likely than Democrats or independents to rate their mental health as excellent"

I'm sorry, but this first sentence in the article "you" referenced appears to say that the Republicans rate 'themselves' in excellent mental health. They were not tested. This is a self evaluation. And WE ALL know the trouble Republicans have with honesty. I present to you Larry Craig & Co.

My defense of Hillary rests.

BTW - she'll most likely be your next president with Obama as Vice so you better be nice or it will be your phone line she's listening to.

Wow that’s funny; I even spit up on myself!!

It's OK, Ryan, you are free to express your feelings here, if that makes you feel better.

Clinton/Obama '08 is your choice for leadership in this country?

Ryan, stop making my case for me!

The article does say republicans rated themselves. To me it only shows they live somewhere other than reality. Questioning ones mental stability can only be a good thing, and more people need to do it.

Personally, I don't like any of the candidates on either side. I really don't like voting for the lesser of two evils. At least ANYONE will be better than Bush!!

Rufus, it says everyone rated themselves, and chances are the "republican", "democrat", or "independent" question was asked last, so people weren't intentionally loading the survey.

As far as your comment about Bush goes, you will get your wish, but if you listened to the most recent democratic debates, you would think that the democrats are running against him in the current election. Apparently (no shocker) they haven't read the constitution. Presidents only run two terms, except in the dictator states that they adore - like Cuba, Venezuela, Iran, etc.

Which once again proves my point...funny how I'm observing such consistency, isn't it? They are so driven by paranoia and fear - instead of reality - that they can't even figure out who they are running against!

I didn't say otherwise, I was just commenting on your interpretation of the survey. Ask any crazy person if they are crazy, they will say they are sane. Questioning one's mental health is healthy.

As I said, I don't like any of the choices from either party. Your criticism of the democrats seems to come from a place that has decided not to like them in the first place. From what I have seen, you are a devout Republican, and a democrat can do no right. Blind politics, as well as blind religion, don't sit well with me, and makes for a very narrow minded view.

Rufus, up until about eight years ago I was a proud Democrat, but I grew up, and I realized that what is best for America isn't a system where people who are in need are encouraged to feed off the breast of the government - which consumes so many of other peoples resources and wastes them in the process.

It is far better to have a system that starts early in teaching kids the right thing to do, and then encourages them to go forward and do it, rather than a system that teaches kids to act like kids, and then allows them to continue to act like children when they grow up!
