If I am going to die, my baby is going to live, said Lorraine Allard.
And the baby, little Liam, lived.
And the mother passed away.
And she gave her life selflessly for her child.
May God bless her soul!

Nice story, but I disagree with her decision. She has 3 other children that will look upon little Liam as the one that “killed” their mother, and he will feel guilty for it for all his days. Exceptionally brave woman, but if I had been her husband I would have fought her tooth and nail to terminate the pregnancy.

Ken, it was this mother's choice to save her baby's life.
I respect that choice. It takes a lot of courage to see that the child has a life ahead of it that isn't yours to take away - even if it means that you will lose your own.
Would you step in and take your grown son's place at death's door, if it would save his life?

Easily, but there is a huge difference. There are no other children that depend on me. And my son is grown enough to understand that I am probably going to die within a few years anyway.
