Mike Huckabee Signs Sessions' Pledge

I can't figure out why people are assaulting Mike Huckabee as not being tough on immigration.

Do you want to know where he stands?

Click that link, and you'll find out.

I support Mike Huckabee for president, will you?

DONATE HERE to support Mike Huckabee and help me reach my goal of raising $1,000 for the governor's campaign. I get nothing for it besides the pleasure of knowing that I stood up for a good man when I was presented with the opportunity. And you get a chance to see America be led by someone that's not in it just for the rich guy, or the poor guy, but for all Americans.

Think "FAIR TAX", not "THE EVANGELICAL PRESIDENT", and you'll see why Mike Huckabee has the appeal that the other candidates on the Republican side lack. Think about where he stands on the environment - he's a conservationist, but not an environmentalist, meaning that he believes we need to protect our environment but not worship it. Think about where he stands on education - he's for making our existing schools better, and the added bonus for conservatives is that, if we start focusing on this issue, we can stem the tide of indoctrination that takes place in our schools by bringing in more support from conservatives and moderates! Think about where he stands on the war - he's for victory, not withdrawal, but he takes a harder stance against torture than most republicans currently take. There are a lot of things that I think give Governor Huckabee broad appeal, and I can't figure out why conservatives are so afraid of that.

I see ways that Mike Huckabee brings together the best of both sides of the aisle, and brings about an attitude in this country that says that family, and faith, matter to Americans. He's not about converting the country to Christianity, as some fear, but he recognizes the good in all religions without wavering from his own. I think Democrats will come out and vote for him in the general election, not because he's a liberal, as so many suggest, but because he's a conservative who is finally taking a look at the economy, the health care system, the infrastructure, the educational system, and the environment, and saying, in essence, "We can and MUST do a better job, for us and for our future."

Mike Huckabee will make a stellar president, so I urge you to look into his credentials, to look into his real record, and to come out and show your support for him when you vote in your state primary.

Wasn’t Mike Huckabee for the Dream Act, the bill that would have allowed illegal immigrant students a cheaper post high school education?

I'm not sure if he was or wasn't, Ken. What I do know is that Governor Huckabee had a contraversial position on the children of immigrants because he believed that they were not to be punished for what their parents had done. The children were here by no fault of their own.

I'd say that one is worth mulling over before flat out rejecting the idea, wouldn't you?

How is having a child that is here illegally pay the same amount your child would pay for tuition at an Arizona college or university punishment? Do you think it’s right that you pay your state taxes that in part go to fund post high school education and your child deservedly gets a discounted tuition because of those taxes and an illegal immigrant could get that same discount when they haven’t paid those same taxes? And don’t give me this crap about illegal’s paying taxes; they didn’t. They certainly paid taxes on purchases but when it came to the month of April they most certainly did not worry about the forms that you fill out along with a check to state and federal governments.

While it is true that the children of an illegal alien had no choice in coming here, we already took care of their education in a way no other country would. We gave them a free education to the 12th grade. We gave them free medical care. And if they were fortunate to have a younger sibling that was born here we most certainly gave them food stamps and possibly free shelter.

I’m sick of the freebies the illegal’s have taken from us and then tell us we’re not treating them well enough??!! They go to our government and complain because we give them more rights than we would be afforded in their country and whine because it’s not enough… they want more! They want a discounted tuition too.

They should be back in their country trying to make it better, but no, they want American freebies. My forefathers paid for this country with blood; maybe they should go and do the same for their country.

Like I said, Ken, the idea is one worth mulling over before coming to judgement. Mike Huckabee's stance on immigration is far better - in our opinion - than any of the other potential candidates for the presidency. You know that McCain probably wouldn't get re-elected to the Senate in Arizona because of his stance on illegal immigration, and now he's trying to become OUR PRESIDENT? When his own home state would likely reject sending him back to Washington (based on the fact that he just eeked out 50% in Arizona), shouldn't the rest of the country decide that this is a judgement against McCain?

I can only hope that McCain realizes that he's slipping fast in the polls, and Governor Perry instead calls HIM and tells HIM to drop out, not Huckabee.

You’re right Tyler, Huckabee is MUCH better than any other SERIOUS contender for the presidency. I’m just tired of my tax dollars going to pay for people and their children’s welfare when they shouldn’t be here in the first place. If all I was worried about was immigration though Huckabee would be my choice, far more than McCain or the Democratic candidates.
